Win A Trip To Dubai... Loc Workshop & Stylist Competition.

Hello Beautiful People,

Thank God it's Saturday, I've been on a roller-coaster ride these past few weeks but before I make this personal there's the Loc Workshop and Stylist Competition coming up and that's what's up, so lets turn up! 'cos there's a ton of goodies for everyone.

First, the Workshop will feature Damian Walter - renowned Houston US, Loctician; if you are a youtube addict like myself then you must have come across his videos. He's down to earth and speaks the truth on hair stuff and isn't afraid to call anyone out on rubbish products and bad locking processes. He's been blessing loc heads all over the US with his magic fingers and  I'm so happy he has agreed to feature at the first ever Loc Workshop in Nigeria. Here's a sneak peek on what Damian is like.

Sah'Rah Stylz, was so gracious to sponsor the upcoming event with awesome samples of the Sah'rah Essentials Shea Loc twist Gel (with Aloe) and Growth Oil. The first twenty participants at the workshop will receive samples of the Loc twist Gel in their goodie bags whilst the Growth oil will be won based on participation at the event.

Products arrived safely and all set to be given away!!! :)
Being a loc head for 5 years by November this year, it took me forever to realise that I could rock my locks with an attitude, it doesn't have to take you forever as well, I will be sharing styles concepts & techniques I have learnt so far and one lucky stylist would have to create a loc do that will win him/her an all expense paid trip to Dubai, sponsored by our very own proudly Nigerian  - The Kinky Apothecary...Wooo hooooo!!!!! I wish I could compete.

The Loc Workshop costs N5,000 only (inclusive of Workshop materials and refreshments) and will hold between the hours of 11am - 4:00pm on the 17th of October, 2013 at Freedom Park Museum, Lagos Island. Stylist Competition starts at 4:30pm and will be open to everyone to watch.

Best off there'll be an after party at the Afropolitan Vibes concert immediately after.... Can't wait to Thank God for what will turn out to be a wonderful Friday. Incidentally, the whole of Freedom Park will be jiving to Felabration on the week of Friday the 17th... So if you are thinking why Friday, trust me, between finding a good stylist, loc products, vibing off to Bantu Crew and drinking palmwine to Fela's tunes, it will be the perfect Friday.

And there's even more, if all goes accordingly to plan, the 2nd edition of the Locitude Magazine will be released on the 17th of October, 2014. Follow me on Instagram for sneak peaks.

Tell a friend, your friend, any stylist... Be there...

I'm finally going to wash my hair today, after I have been making hair up and down Lagos these past few weeks. I'll be trying a coconut oil, rosemary oil and castor oil head massage :). My locs are so going to be shinny on Friday :)

Alrighty!!! back to planning this awesome event. xoxo.

Your loc head,

Ade.

7 Locitude #LocInspiration Hair Styles for Short Locs.

Hello Loc Heads, This one is obviously for fellow loc heads in the awkward phase of their locs. The awkward phase is usually sometime around Day 1 - Year 2; when your head is full of scalp after a fresh re-twist and your locs seem too scanty, when your hair unravels after a fresh re-twist before you say can say Jack Robinson; when you think water is your worst enemy because it's preventing your locs from forming; when you are having a bad hair day and you feel like - Oh God if only I could get my hair into a ponytail it would do. I can go on and on... but instead I present you with 7 Style Ideas for short locs. #LocInspiration no. 1: Loc loops or Loc petals. Reminds me of a cropped hair cut, this style looks classy and elegant. Can be worn to an event. It's also neat and can help with a more serious/subtle look. #LocInspiration no. 2: Pinned Up side. Even though it is just pinning up one side of your locs, it always make a difference. A touch Style. You can use ha...

Hair How To: Loc Loops/Petals in 4 easy steps.

Hello, #TGIF #ItsTheWeekendBaby #PhotoShootModeActivated #Locitude #HairHowTo #LocsAndAttitude #LocWorkshop #ComingSoon #OkReadBelow. I'm obviously excited, payments for my shipment on brand new dada products stock has finally gone through (It is not easy to be a Nigerian #That'sAll), now waiting for the products to get here. I hope it doesn't take forever. I found this FREE accounting app called waves app, which is helping keep my spend together. I usually get excited when I learn new stuff, so yaaaayi. Seems this hobby is becoming a business sooner than I imagined. Sorry back to the Loc loop Tutorial... Step 1: Select two strands of locs close to each other. (You can use only one strand of loc only or 3-4 depending on how thick your locs are) Step 2: Take the ends of your strands, fold them towards the roots making a loop Step 3: Fasten the base of the loop with a tiny rubber band. Make sure it's not too tight. Step 4: Style to your taste ...

Product Review: Jamaican Mango and Lime Island Oil

Hello people, Skip next paragraph if you don't have time for my guilt trip . A come back post is always a weird thing; not knowing where to start or how to apologize for not updating my blog for so long sometimes prolongs the come back itself. So I'm back, and I hope I still know how to write :). Ok Ok, I'm so sorry for not posting for so long and I would really try to maintain a schedule for updating my blog. I promise I would try. I have been trying out loads of new stuff lately which I would save for some future post but today I want to review one of my all time favorites, the Jamaican Mango and Lime Island Oil. Jamaican Mango & Lime Island Oil. Island Oil. Function  - Very Good Smell  - Awesomely Excellent Feeling  - Ok Consistency  - Excellent Island oil is a mixture of Castor Oil, Carrot Oil, Jojoba Oil, Olive oil, Tea Tree Oil, Mineral oil, colouring and Fragrance. As you can see Island oil is a lot in one mix, each of these...
