Hello Everyone, I know it’s been a minute! More like a few months... but this silence has been worth it. I have spent time growing a business and understanding entrepreneurship. I’m not there yet, there’s still so much to learn. I have been so busy working at the Locitude studio, either making other people with locs happy or procrastinating about how much more stuff I can do to make them happy. I’ve been in this circle for a while now that I almost forgot that Loc Appreciation Day is around the corner. This year is going to be a lot of fun as usual. All anyone needs to make a party rock is 2 or more loc heads. Now imagine 50, 100 or maybe 200 in the same space appreciating one thing in common…. It’s going to be one hell of a party and again I’m glad to host. We (team locitude) have decided to switch things up a bit this year, bring some “new” to the table and also keep it simple as we all know as economy take be now . Did my Locs grow? Hmmmmm.... It's been a whole year since my last length check and my regime I think has changed a little. I have been sticking more to the "Less is More" principle and I'm generally happier about the state of my locs. They are cleaner and feel much lighter even though they are longer. I'll save my current regime for another post entirely. Picture on the left is from Feb. 2015 and the one on the right is me currently Feb. 2016. My longest loc is shy of the 13" mark, however now that I think of it my length check tee may not be the most accurate way of telling if my hair grew or not as those folds around my sides may be changing the results. Ha Ha!!! My personal verdict is that my hair grew about 1 -2 inches at the very least, I notice the growth more around the sides, the taper on the left side of the pictures obviously changed a little. Phew!!! Howdy People, Here's a quick and easy Loc do that I thought to share while trying out vloging again. I think this video is less shy than the last one I did. I honestly have been too lazy to try video editing, so yes, I did this in one take and I'm proud :D I forgot to mention in the video that Kemi Lewis of KL'sNatural inspired this hair style. She came by the Locitude Studio in fabulous Chunky Twists made from Marley hair using the Crotchet method. I decided to try it out with my own hair and I totally loved the results. Rocked the Chunky Loc Twists for about a whole week. Finding the perfect angle for the perfect selfie isn't always easy so I fooled around with my camera for a bit and I the pictures below are probably my best of about 15 X_X. Hey people, Glad to be writing again, I am learning to remember that blogging is part of the business :). Well it's the month of love and I wish you all lovely things but while we are that and not arguing over the current state of the economy  or the dollar to Naira exchange rate ; or if Baba Go slow is not indeed somewhat fast, I would like to discuss a very important Loc Head issue - Interlocking Vs Palm rolling. First lets define this two loc methods so no one is confused. Interlocking is the process of getting the hair to loc by passing the tip of a loc strand through the root using a latch hook, a tool or by hand. Palm rolling is the process of locking the hair by rolling them between the palms in the same direction. Hello People, Happy New Year 2016!!! I'll keep it short and sweet. It's been an interesting journey so far and there was a big shift for me and Locitude in 2015. I recall my very first post on this blog where I said I was going to blog about my hair journey. Locitude has come a long way from a writing hobby; to a business with an actual outlet; to having staff; to an event planner and to a magazine publisher. I am so grateful to every single person who has been a part of the journey so far, but this is not the time to pat myself on the back. It's the time to want more. What Locitude has become is admirable but this is just the beginning. Today, I remind myself of the simple things that brought us this far, like listening to advice, weeding the good from the bad, taking risks and most importantly not being afraid to fail. This is the attitude for 2016. Have a fantastic 2016 with hugs, love and tiny little kisses. I remain your Loc Head, Ade.
